As per report a delhi court on wednesday (6 March) acquitted 11 people in the case of rioting and arson in Dayalpur area during the Northeast delhi riots 2020. The court said that 'there is no logic or possibility that the people in the crowd of Muslim community would raise slogans of jai Shri ram or beat any Muslim person.' Regarding this case, Additional Sessions Judge Pulastya Pramachala said that it was possible that the crowd of people who carried out the incident were from the Hindu community. The investigating officer (IO) and the witness in the case alleged that the crowd of two groups raised slogans against each other, pelted stones at each other and set several vehicles on fire.
Perhaps the prosecution relied on the statements of two eyewitnesses, who identified the nine accused. Apart from this, two accused carrying sticks were identified from the video. Whereas a complainant Mohammad mumtaz alleged that the crowd was raising slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram'. The court said that the prosecution's allegation based on Mumtaz's statement that the crowd was protesting against the citizenship amendment act (CAA) was a lie.
Let us tell you that during the riots, Mohammad Mumtaz's rented shop 'Sanjar chicken Corner' was attacked. While rejecting the testimony of both the eyewitnesses, the court said, 'If one looks at the statement of eyewitnesses Sachin and Deepak, it seems that this statement was given through general observation and without seeing the incident that happened at Sanjar chicken Shop.
