The election commission of india on march 18 has ordered the removal of Brihanmumbai Municipal (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh chahal, Additional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners. In this order, maharashtra government has been directed to transfer those officers associated with election related work who have completed three years or are in their home districts. He has been collector of thane for four years and collector of aurangabad for four years, State Excise Commissioner and Managing director of MHADA. chahal has also been honored with the Newsmakers Achievers Award in 2021, in recognition of his outstanding efforts. Despite the challenges, Iqbal Singh Chahal's leadership was instrumental in managing the pandemic in Mumbai, earning him praise.
The Central election commission has issued orders to remove home Secretaries in six states Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, himachal pradesh and Uttarakhand. Besides, the secretaries of the General Administrative Department in Mizoram and himachal pradesh have also been removed.
