The issue of seat sharing is stuck in nda in Maharashtra. The seats have not been announced yet. Although bjp has fielded candidates on 20 seats, the remaining two parties i.e. shiv sena and ncp have not made any announcement. Now Satara seat has come into limelight. Here BJP's rajya sabha mp udayanraje bhosale and leaders of allied parties have staked claim.

Bhosale is a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji.

Bhosale is a descendant of 17th century maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji. He met Deputy chief minister and senior bharatiya janata party (BJP) leader devendra fadnavis on monday night. The former mp is being said to be a strong contender from the party for the Satara lok sabha seat. However, Purushottam Jadhav, president of Satara district unit of shiv sena led by chief minister Eknath Shinde, also wants a ticket from Satara.

What did Deputy cm Fadvis say?

Jadhav said that since his party (undivided Shiv Sena) has traditionally been contesting from this seat, he is the natural choice of Mahayuti for this parliamentary constituency. Speaking to reporters here on wednesday on his meeting with Bhosale, fadnavis said, “I met udayanraje bhosale and we talked. “Everything will become clear after the party releases the list (of candidates).”

Bhosale was earlier in NCP

Bhosale was earlier in the undivided nationalist congress party (NCP) and won two lok sabha elections as its candidate. However, soon after winning the 2019 lok sabha elections, he left the party and joined BJP. In the lok sabha by-election held along with the maharashtra Assembly elections that year, the bjp lost the Satara seat to NCP's srinivas Patil. Bhosale later became a rajya sabha member of BJP.
