Is BSP spoiling the political game of the india alliance?
The opposition's political game may get spoiled due to the Bahujan Samaj party (BSP) fielding more Muslim candidates this time in the lok sabha elections. With this decision, BSP is going to give a tough challenge to the SP-Congress alliance. Due to the distribution of Muslim votes on seven seats, there are chances of a triangular contest. Political experts say that BSP has released its first list of 16 candidates, which by giving preference to Muslims on seven seats, has created problems for the india Alliance. However, there is no woman candidate in the first list of the party. The party has also declared its candidates for three reserved seats.
india alliance may have to suffer a loss
india alliance may have to suffer loss due to this strategy of BSP. BSP's strategy was similar in the assembly elections also. Even though the party was reduced to one seat, its candidates got more votes than the margin of defeat of SP on many seats.
Senior political analyst Virendra Singh Rawat says that by fielding seven Muslim candidates in the first list, BSP has expressed its intention to bet again on the Dalit-Muslim alliance which was successfully tried in Western Uttar Pradesh in the past. At the same time, giving preference to Muslim faces in the selection of candidates has hinted at making the path of the indian alliance difficult. The use of social engineering has been diversified by fielding candidates from different castes on other seats.
