The district Magistrate of meerut has sent a notice to Arun Govil, the bharatiya janata party candidate from Meerut-Hapur lok sabha constituency, on the complaint of aam aadmi party leader Dr. sarika Verma from Gurugram. It is alleged that Arun Govil had taken the picture of Lord ram during the election campaign. Based on this, a complaint was made against Arun Govil to the election Commission. In her complaint to the election Commission, aam aadmi party leader Dr. sarika Verma had said that bjp candidate Arun Govil was carrying the photo of Lord Shri ram during his campaign. It is wrong to include activities related to any particular religion in election programs to campaign in support of any party or candidate. Under the guise of its election campaign, bjp has forgotten the scope of the Constitution and law.
aam aadmi party is carrying forward its election preparations following all the rules and policies. It is unfair to take recourse to the religious beliefs of voters at the time of elections for one's political gain. Taking the complaint of Dr. sarika Verma seriously, district Magistrate meerut immediately issued a notice to bjp candidate Arun Govil. Aam Aadmi Party's haryana state spokesperson Dr. sarika Verma thanked district Magistrate meerut for this action.
Dr. sarika Verma said that due to partiality on the part of Municipal Corporation Gurugram, AAP and congress banners and posters put up at various places in the city are being removed. Banners and posters of bjp candidates are intact. This double standard should be stopped. If campaign-related materials are to be removed then candidates of all parties should be treated equally.
