The election commission has given a sensational response to the case seeking disqualification of congress candidate Manikam Thakur who contested from the Virudhunagar lok sabha constituency.

Manikam Tagore has been fielded as a congress candidate in the Virudhunagar constituency. Complaints were raised against him that he violated the election rules and paid money to the voters. Meanwhile, madurai West district BJP president sasikumar has filed a case in the madras high court seeking disqualification of congress candidate Manikam Tagore.

That, during the parliamentary elections, the agents and allies of congress candidate Manikam Thakur from Virudhunagar constituency distributed money to the voters. Cases have been registered in Virudhunagar and madurai police stations against Manikam Tagore's agents Kamaraj, Seeni, Karupiah and Pandi in connection with this money transfer. Even though a case was registered, no action was taken against candidate Manikam Thakur.

The election commission has not taken any action regarding the request to disqualify him for violating the election rules. Based on the petition sent to the election commission, Manikam Thakur should be ordered to be disqualified.

The election commission explained that the petitioner's petition has already been taken into consideration and a decision will be taken on the petition within a week.
