Why is Arun Govil in mumbai instead of Meerut?
Arun Govil, the BJP's candidate for meerut, abandoned the seat on april 26, the day after the polls concluded, following a month-long campaign. On Sunday, the ram from Ramayana took to X to clarify that he had left meerut for mumbai under the party's directive because he would be campaigning there. The actor's abrupt withdrawal from Meerut was questioned by the UP Congress, which prompted the clarification.
On social media, UP congress president ajay Rai posed the question of what the public could expect from a leader who departed the constituency the day after the polls, most likely due to his inability to maintain public support. "Only god can save us from such leader-cum-actor," ajay Rai stated, adding that Arun Govil had promised to look into the problems in meerut when questioned about them following the elections. The congress leader referred to this as "parachute politics," claiming that most bjp officials follow this strategy and don't care about the local populace.
Arun Govil addressed the voters, sisters, brothers, and workers of meerut in a post, dispelling rumors about him and stating that he arrived in the state on march 26, two days after his candidacy was declared. "I stayed with you for a month and used your backing to run for office. The election is concluded. I sincerely appreciate your love, friendship, and respect," he stated. "As per the party's directive, I am currently in mumbai to carry out my duties. Arun Govil wrote, "The party is planning to send me to other areas also for election campaign." Arun Govil said in his statement that he will return to meerut after his other obligations are completed.
