The welfare schemes introduced by ap cm Jaganmohan Reddy, known as Navratna schemes, are proving highly beneficial for women in the state. Among these, Kapu Nestham and OBC Nestham provide financial assistance under various categories. Additionally, funds have been allocated to women's accounts for five years in the guise of loan waivers.
If re-elected, jagan promises to offer interest-free loans of up to three lakhs and extend the current benefits for 18 months. He has already waived loans for those who borrowed three lakhs and two lakhs, amounting to a government burden of Rs. 20 thousand crores. However, Chandrababu, if elected, appears inclined to discontinue these initiatives.
Chandrababu's manifesto outlines plans to increase interest-free loans for self-help groups from Rs. 3 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs but limits the allocation to ten lakhs per community, translating to one lakh per individual. In contrast, Jagan's approach would provide thirty lakhs for ten individuals.
Chandrababu also pledges economic empowerment for women through a special B4 model scheme and gratuity payments for Anganwadi workers in line with a supreme court ruling. He promises to raise the minimum wage for Asha workers and offers free hostel accommodation for working women. Additionally, student loans will be facilitated through "Wings for their Dreams."
Chandrababu's proposal to reward good deeds during festivals has garnered attention, yet his assurances suggest a potential cancellation of schemes like Cheyutha, bc Nestam, and Kapu Nestam.
