Supreme court seeks response from ED on early morning arrest of 64 year old businessman

Supreme court On Odd Hours Arrest: The supreme court has sought an answer from the Enforcement Directorate on the arrest of a 64-year-old businessman in the early morning after a long interrogation that lasted till late night last year.

The supreme court has sought a response from the Enforcement Directorate in the case of the arrest of 64-year-old businessman Ram Kotumal Issrani. In fact, the businessman alleges that during the interrogation, the investigating agency had kept him awake for about 20 hours and after this, he was arrested at an inconvenient time (Odd Hours) at 5.30 in the morning. However, the decision of arrest has been upheld by the supreme Court.

The bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice prashant kumar Mishra has given this decision. 64 year old businessman Ram Israni had filed a petition before the supreme Court. The petitioner has been arrested by ED after a long interrogation in the bank fraud case. A two-judge bench has sought an answer from the Enforcement Directorate on the arrests at odd hours. According to the rules, there is no provision for arrest before sunrise and late at night. It is also necessary to follow many provisions related to the arrest of elderly people and women.

Petitioner made serious allegations against the investigating agency

The petitioner made serious allegations against the investigating agency and said that his interrogation was started at 10.30 pm. After this, the investigation team interrogated him till 5.30 pm and finally arrested him. The petitioner also said that he was kept awake for 20 hours continuously, which affected his health.
