Before this, voting will be held on june 26 and the results will come on July 1. The last date for nomination is june 7. On the other hand, Nana Patole told reporters that Shiv Sena-UBT has announced candidates for mumbai Graduate and mumbai teachers constituencies. Now we have also decided to contest on two seats.

Nana Patole said that the names of the candidates and the area will be announced on june 2. Shiv Sena-UBT has nominated Anil Parab and JM Abhyankar as candidates for the Legislative Council elections. congress and Shiv Sena-UBT are contesting this election but another party of Mahavikas Aghadi, ncp Sharad Chandra Pawar, has not yet clarified his stand. From the ruling party, Ajit Pawar's ncp has announced a candidate on the mumbai teachers constituency while MNS has fielded a candidate in the Konkan Graduate constituency.

Ajit Pawar from the ruling party fielded a candidate on one seat. The number of members of the Legislative Council is 78. These include 11 members of shiv sena (undivided), 9 of ncp (undivided), 8 of congress and 22 of BJP. Apart from this, JDU, Peasants and workers party and Rashtra Samaj party have one member each. At the same time, there are four independents in the council and 21 seats are vacant. Out of the vacant seats, 12 members will be nominated by the governor and nine will be elected by the representatives of the local body.
