The Lieutenant governor has ordered that the labor and workers will not work from 12 noon to 3 pm. During this time their salary will also not be deducted.
In view of the scorching heat, Delhi's Deputy governor VK Saxena has ordered a paid break for labourers and workers between 12-3 pm (when the heat is the highest). This arrangement will remain in force till the temperature does not go below 40 degrees Celsius.

Severe heat wave will continue
The minimum temperature in the national capital on wednesday was recorded at 29.4 degrees Celsius, which is 2.8 degrees higher than the normal temperature of this season. The india Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its weather forecast warning that severe heat wave conditions will persist in most parts of Delhi. The humidity level in the air was 43 percent at 8.30 am.
The maximum temperature is likely to cross 46 degrees Celsius in many parts of the city. Very intense heat was observed in the national capital on tuesday and the temperature in some parts of delhi reached close to 50 degrees Celsius. According to the IMD, heat wave conditions are expected to persist in delhi for the next few days. The Meteorological Department has urged people to take "extreme caution for sensitive people" due to heat wave.
