Ration shops get a boost - tamil Nadu government's sudden decision.

Accordingly, it has been announced that the elixir fair price shops will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs.5 crore. In the tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Trading Corporation, it has been announced that 100 elixir fair price shops operating in 11 zones will be developed on a priority basis and Rs.5 lakh will be spent per shop.


These works will be carried out in chennai (North), chennai (South), Dindigul, Kanchipuram, Kanyakumari, Krishnagiri, Namakkal, Nilgiris, Sivagangai, Tenkasi, and Tuticorin districts and fair price shops operating under the cooperative sector will be spruced up to provide enhanced services to PDS consumers. .


At an estimated cost of Rs.7 crore, sewage treatment plants will be set up in rice mills of tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Corporation, Ammapettai in thanjavur zone, Sundarakottai in Tiruvarur zone, Erukkur-II in mayiladuthurai zone and Siddargad, neyveli in Cuddalore zone, Manamadurai in Sivagangai zone and state-of-the-art sewage treatment plants will be installed and the environment will be improved. It has also been announced.


Besides, the warehouse buildings will be reconstructed at an estimated cost of Rs.22.30 crore. It is said that 53 warehouse buildings in 9 warehouse complexes will be reconstructed along with structures such as roofs, perimeter walls, electrical works, roads, warehouse office buildings and accommodation facilities for loaders.


It has been announced that the new round process warehouse premises will be repaired at an estimated cost of Rs.29.5 crore. A 2,000 mt capacity complex in Srimushnam Circle, Cuddalore district at a cost of Rs.4.5 crore, a warehouse complex with a capacity of 6,000 mt in Keezhalakarai Circle, Ramanathapuram district at a cost of Rs.13.9 crore, a warehouse complex with a capacity of 5,000 mt in Vandalur circle, Chengalpattu district at a cost of Rs.11.10 crore. The tamil Nadu government has announced that the warehouse complex will be built with NABARD funding.
