Gas leak at the Kuala Lumpur Airport..!? 39 passengers fell ill...

Around 39 passengers fell ill due to a gas leak at the Kuala Lumpur international airport in Malaysia. According to officials, the incident took place at 11:23 am yesterday (local time). The gas leak occurred at the Sepang Aircraft Engineering Facility in the Southern Support Zone of Kuala Lumpur Airport. However, the staff were immediately alerted and were able to stop the gas leakage. Around 39 passengers have already fallen ill due to this gas leakage. Officials said that 14 people were immediately sent to the airport disaster unit for treatment. The Selangor fire Department immediately reached the spot after receiving the information about the gas leak and managed to avert a major accident.
One of the sick passengers is being treated in the hospital. However, according to reports, their health condition is stable. The gas leaked at the airport was identified as methyl mercaptan. The airport staff clarified that the passengers did not face any difficulties. The officials clarified that there will be no changes in the flight arrival times in the wake of this incident. The fire department revealed that it dispatched personnel along with a hazardous materials team to an emergency call about a chemical gas leakage at the Southern Support Zone Sepang Aircraft Engineering Facility in the morning. As the engineering facility is separate from the passenger terminal, people working in three companies were exposed to the gas. An investigation has been conducted regarding this leakage.
