In his role as the deputy chief minister and Forestry minister of Andhra Pradesh, pawan kalyan has taken a firm stand against red sandalwood smuggling, an issue that was a hot topic for the TDP, JSP, and bjp while they were in opposition. His first major order involves cracking down on the smuggling operations, directing the police to swiftly apprehend those involved and initiating an investigation into the illegal transport of red sandalwood logs.

Pawan, with his characteristic wit, noted that while smuggling scenes might be entertaining in movies like "Pushpa," they have no place in reality. He humorously referenced these cinematic portrayals, making it clear that such activities would not be tolerated under his watch.

Interestingly, Pawan hinted at a connection between notable political figures and the smuggling operations. He mentioned that sandalwood logs associated with Peddireddy Ramachandra reddy and mithun reddy were seized in nepal and that the case is still active. This implies that Pawan suspects Peddireddy's involvement in the illicit trade.

To tackle the issue head-on, Pawan has called for heightened surveillance at the sandalwood dumping yard in kadapa and the establishment of additional checkposts to intercept the illegal transport of logs. His decisive actions aim to curb the smuggling activities, particularly targeting the "Pushpa Rajs" in the YCP, who have allegedly been part of this trade.
