The streams of uttarandhra Sujala are innumerable...!?

Stream of uttarandhra Sujala. This is a key project planned by the YS Rajasekhara reddy government. Through this, it is a key project to irrigate 8 lakh acres in 46 mandals in the joint districts of Visakha, Srikakulam, and vijayanagaram and provide drinking water to the people of more than a thousand villages. Initially, the government gave approval to undertake this project with 7 thousand 214 crore rupees, but the work did not progress. In the meantime, Rajashekha Reddy's death and then the division of the state was enough time. And, after partition even during Chandrababu's reign, this did not matter much. Then cm Chandrababu decided to take up this project in two phases in 2018. In the first phase, works were undertaken in 2 packages to irrigate 1 lakh 30 thousand acres with 2 thousand 22 crore rupees. In the meantime, with the election, Chandrababu's government collapsed and jagan came to power. He gave priority to the manifesto over the projects. As a result, no work was done on this project. If the two phases are combined, the estimated cost of the project has increased to 17,500 crore rupees.
In fact, polavaram canal works are the most important in the uttarandhra Sujala stream. Recently Chandrababu also visited here and said the same thing. After the completion of the polavaram left canal, the water will have to be lifted from the end of the canal at the 162nd km. In these four years, polavaram left canal work was not taken up. From 2020-21 till now, except for the allocation of 645 crores in the budget for the uttarandhra Sujala Sravanti project, the expenditure has not crossed 19 crore rupees.


Moreover, due to the non-acquisition of land related to this project, there was no work to be done in the first phase. In the second phase, works worth 3800 crores have to be done. However, the issue of land acquisition has become crucial for these works as well. A total of 16 thousand 46 acres of land has to be acquired for this project. Now, completed the survey for 7 thousand 406 acres and released the land position schedule. The survey of the remaining 9 thousand acres is in the final stage. A situation has arisen where it is impossible to tell when it will be completed.
