Tummidihetti Project: Unaccomplished & Unexecuted..!?

* Governments are lagging in utilizing the water flowing in those rivers.

* Excellent water storage capacity.

*A major part of the project is the construction of a 148-meter-high barrage.

Today's projects are crucial for any state or nation. There are many water projects but the river water is very useful for the farmers without getting wasted. Many rivers are flowing in our state. Otherwise, our governments are lagging behind in utilizing the water flowing in those rivers. With that came the rainy season, which means that due to the lack of projects to catch the water flowing in many rivers, all the good clean water runs across the states and finally merges into the sea and becomes useless. With that, the state governments and central governments are making many efforts to plant many countries and states by constructing many water projects and providing water to the farmers through them.
As a part of that, some projects have also been completed. Even after some projects are started, some are stopped in the middle due to many reasons like changes of governments and change of leaders. Tummidihetti is one of the projects that started like that and never got completed. BR Ambedkar Pranhita Project is being built on the Pranhita River. This project came into existence along with the kaleshwaram lift scheme when the Ambedkar Pranahita Chevella project which was headed earlier was changed. A major part of the project is the construction of a 148-meter-high barrage on the Pranhita River at Tummidihetti, Kautala Mandal, Komarambhim District. This barrage will be constructed at the confluence of the wardha and Penganga Rivers to form the Pranhita River.

Storage capacity is 1.8 tms. In Sirpur, Kagaznagar, Asifabad, Chennur, and Bellampally constituencies, irrigation water will be provided to two lakh acres. If this project is successfully completed, two lakh acres will be irrigated in Sirpur, Kagaznagar, Asifabad, Chennur, and Bellampally constituencies.
