Patnaik's 2-decade rule break.. Miss that record in a pinch?
The breaking of the Jaitrayatra of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader naveen patnaik, who has been the chief minister of odisha for 24 years, is really a matter of shock. bjp has finally been able to put a brake on him who has been dominant in the state of Odisha for more than two decades. But that record was snatched by the bjp in a pinch. Chamling served as the cm of sikkim for 24 years and 165 days. After Chamling, naveen patnaik, jyoti basu (West bengal - 23 years 137 days), Gegang Apang (Arunachal Pradesh - 22 years 250 days), Lal Thadwal (Mizoram - 22 years 60 days), Veerabha Singh (Himachal Pradesh - 21 years 13 days) are among the longest serving CMs.
