Announcement of date for rajya sabha by-election?


By-elections will be held on september 3 for 12 vacant rajya sabha seats in nine states of the country. Ten rajya sabha seats were vacant after the current members including Union Ministers piyush Goyal, sarbananda sonowal and jyotiraditya scindia were elected as lok sabha members. At the same time, by-election is to be held on one seat of rajasthan as well.


In fact, this seat has become vacant after rajya sabha MP and congress leader KC Venugopal from rajasthan won the Lok Sabha. At the same time, the tenure of this seat is till 21 june 2026. According to the election Commission, the notification for the rajya sabha by-election will be issued on august 14 and the last date for filing nomination papers is august 21. Separate elections will be held for the rajya sabha seat on september 3 and the results will be declared on the same day.


Let us tell you that there are 10 rajya sabha seats in Rajasthan. Out of these ten seats, four are currently occupied by bjp and five by Congress. But in this by-election, it is believed that this vacant seat can go to BJP. After this, both bjp and congress will have five MPs each in Rajasthan.

In rajasthan, Ghanshyam Tiwari, Rajendra Gehlot, madan Rathore and Chunnilal Garasiya are rajya sabha MPs from bjp, while sonia gandhi, Randeep Singh Surjewala,

Mukul Wasnik, Neeraj dangi and pramod kumar are rajya sabha MPs from Congress.

According to the election Commission, nominations for the by-election will be filed on august 14. The last date for nomination will be august 21. Scrutiny will be done on august 22 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination will be on the same day. Along with this, rajya sabha by-election will be held on september 3 and the counting of votes will be done on the same day at 5 pm.
