Earlier, when uddhav thackeray arrived here for a meeting of his party workers at the Gadkari Rangayatan Auditorium, maharashtra navnirman sena (MNS) workers protested and threw tomatoes and cow dung at his convoy.


Recently, uddhav thackeray had termed bjp leader amit shah as 'Ahmed Shah Abdali'. The Union home minister had accused uddhav thackeray of being the head of the 'Aurangzeb Fan Club'. At the event, uddhav thackeray said, "My Shiv Sainiks are my 'Wagh-Nakh', I am not afraid of Abdali." 'Wagh-Nakh' or tiger-claw is a hand-held weapon. It is said to have been used by Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj to kill Afzal Khan, a general of the Bijapur Sultanate, in 1659. The weapon is currently kept in a museum in Satara.

Apart from this, uddhav thackeray on saturday accused maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde of bowing down to delhi and said that the upcoming assembly elections are a fight against those who hate the state. Addressing a gathering of party workers in thane city, Eknath Shinde's stronghold, he accused the state government of 'bribing' voters by announcing its flagship scheme 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Behen Yojana' months before the elections in October. The former chief minister said that women should take advantage of the scheme as it is their own money, but they should not compromise on self-respect. thackeray attacked rival shiv sena chief Shinde, saying, "They are bowing down to Delhi." He said that the struggle of shiv sena founder bal thackeray was to refuse to bow before Delhi.
