- ntr who brought the Mandal system in 1986.
- Direct election of Sarpanch started in 1986.
- 50% reservations for women when kiran kumar reddy was CM.

How to establish the panchayat raj system in the united state of Andhra Pradesh? It is interesting to see who introduced it. On october 11, 1959, prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated the first panchayat Samiti in shad nagar of Mahbub nagar district in the united state of Andhra Pradesh. The then chief minister Neelam Sanjeeva reddy was the second state to introduce the three-tier panchayat raj system. After that, following the recommendations of ashok Mehta, in 1986, the then chief minister NT Rama Rao abolished the panchayat system and introduced the Mandal Parishad system. The Mandal Parishad system came into force in united andhra pradesh from 1987. Based on the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act 1992, a new panchayati raj Act was framed in 1994. This Act came into force from May 30, 1994. Direct election of Sarpanchs was introduced in 1986 for the first time in united Andhra Pradesh. After May 30, 1995, those with more than two children were disqualified from contesting or holding office in local body elections.

Also, andhra pradesh has decided to provide 1/3 reservation for women in local bodies. Later, when kiran kumar reddy was the chief minister, he took a sensational decision by providing 50% reservation for women in local bodies as well. Thus, the local governance in ap has been developing in different directions.
