BJP doing political drama - DK Shivakumar on MUDA 'scam'

Deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar of karnataka has pledged to support chief minister Siddaramaiah in the face of bjp pressure to step down over the suspected land fraud involving the MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority). Shivakumar stated that the congress party is "100%" behind the chief minister and that there is "no evidence to prove" Siddaramaih has done anything improper in an exclusive interview with india Today TV.

"Resignation is not a possibility. My chief minister is protected by national law. There isn't any proof to suggest that my chief minister has acted improperly. This is all just a political drama being played out by the bjp," Shivakumar said on india Today TV. The deputy chief minister for karnataka went on to say that he is "not worried" about taking over as chief minister. Shivakumar stated, "That's up to the will of the high command."

Thawar Chand Gehlot, the governor of karnataka, authorized the prosecution of Siddaramaih in relation to the purported MUDA fraud on Saturday. The action was taken in response to a complaint about the "MUDA scam" that RTI activist TJ Abraham had made. Shivakumar addressed the issue and stated that before approving the prosecution of the karnataka chief minister, he ought to have waited to see the commission's findings on the purported scandal.

This happened after the governor demanded an explanation from Siddaramaiah on July 26 by sending him a show-cause notice about the purported fraud. He had also asked the Chief Secretary for information before.

Additionally, Shivakumar mentioned the karnataka Congress's letter to President Droupadi Murmu requesting a meeting with the governor in order to rescind the prosecution decision. "Even I have been requesting the President, appealing to the President, to talk to the governor," he said.

The deputy chief minister of karnataka restated the Congress's backing for Siddaramaiah, stating that "everyone is with the chief minister, from mallikarjun Kharge, the party President, to the booth worker."
