On august 24, the main opposition party congress will take to the streets across Chhattisgarh. congress has decided to protest against the arrest of mla Devendra Yadav in the Baloda Bazar violence case. A meeting of the congress Legislature party was held at the state office Rajiv Bhawan on Tuesday. Opposition leader Charan Das Mahant informed the journalists about the decisions taken in the meeting. He said that the congress has decided to protest in every district against the arrest of Yadav.

Mahant said that the Legislature party meeting mainly discussed how the vishnu Dev Sai-led government implicated Yadav in false allegations to hide its failure. He said that in the congress Legislature party meeting, concern was expressed over the action against Yadav and it was decided that injustice would not be allowed to happen to Yadav. Mahant said, "We will fight together against injustice." He said that congress MLAs and leaders will hold a press conference in every district on august 22 to protest against the police action.

On august 24, there will be a protest by taking to the streets. He said, "We will also meet the governor regarding this issue." After the meeting, the congress mla went to raipur Central Jail to meet Yadav. Officials had earlier said that Yadav, mla from Bhilai nagar seat of Durg district, was arrested by Baloda Bazar police on august 17. He said that the mla has been arrested in connection with a case registered under various sections of the indian Penal Code.

On the intervening night of May 15 and 16 this year, the 'Jaitakham' or 'Vijay Stambh' at Girodpuri Dham in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district was damaged by miscreants. The Satnami community protested on june 10 against the alleged vandalism of the sacred symbol 'Vijay Stambh'. The mob set fire to a government office building and more than 150 vehicles. In view of the violence, Section 144 was imposed in the city.
