Former maharashtra chief minister and shiv sena (UBT) chief uddhav thackeray has praised the congress on the occasion of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary. Along with this, he has also taken a dig at the PM Modi-led central government. He said that in the earlier congress rule, central agencies never targeted his party.


Shiv Sena (UBT) chief uddhav thackeray said, "Undivided shiv sena and congress were staunch rivals in the past, but the two parties never acted with a spirit of revenge against each other. He said this at a program organized in mumbai on tuesday (August 20) on the occasion of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary.


The former chief minister of maharashtra further said, "Central agencies never knocked on the doors of shiv sena leaders, even though the party's founder Bal thackeray had said sharp things about the then Prime Minister. The Sadbhavana Diwas program was organized by the mumbai unit of the Congress. shiv sena formed an alliance with congress after breaking ties with bharatiya janata party (BJP) in 2019.''


Uddhav thackeray said, ''Shiv Sena and congress were staunch rivals, but the two parties never acted with a spirit of revenge against each other.'' The former chief minister targeted the narendra Modi-led central government and said that as prime minister, Rajiv gandhi never backed down from facing challenges, while the current government is not even worried about the outbreak of violence in Manipur and Kashmir.
