During 2004-09, Sabitha indra Reddy served simultaneously as the minister of Mines. In 2009, she took up the key post of home minister in the late chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy's cabinet and created history as the first woman home minister in the country. She earned a unique identity as Chevella's younger sister of late chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Sabita indra Reddy, who stayed away from the contest for her son in 2014, contested from the congress in 2018 and later joined the BRS party. But even after joining BRS, she got due respect. Sabitha indra Reddy took charge as education minister in KCR's cabinet. Moreover, she also created history as the first woman minister in telangana state.
