Nepal is one of India's neighbours.  Many indians make frequent trips to the tourist and religious sites here. The bus was on its way from Bokhara in nepal to Kathmandu when the accident took place. There were 40 people on the bus. Most of them are said to be Indians. The bus was on its way to Kathmandu when it hit the road on the Martyangti river.

Suddenly, the driver lost control of the bus. The bus plunged into a nearby river. The bus was washed away in the river waters. The bus washed ashore a short distance away. Meanwhile, the nepal police and Forest Department received information about the bus accident. Acting on the information, army personnel and police personnel have launched a rescue operation. So far, 16 people have been rescued from the bus. They were rushed to a nearby hospital.

At the same time, 14 people were killed in the bus accident. Their bodies have been recovered safely.  A search operation is underway to trace the missing persons traveling in the bus. There is a risk that the death toll will rise significantly.  Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP) deepak Kumar said, "The bus bearing UP FT 7623 was heading towards Kathmandu with 40 passengers. The bus then plunged into the river.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the bus met with an accident due to continuous heavy rains in the hilly region. At present, 45 police personnel are involved in the rescue operation. Nepal's Disaster Response Team has also joined the rescue operation. Last month, a bus carrying 50 passengers plunged into a forest river in central Nepal. Such incidents are becoming a regular story."  The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, police said.
