Varagur is near Erumapatti in Namakkal district. There is a government Higher Secondary school in this village.

A clash broke out between two Class 11 students of the school. The two reportedly took turns attacking each other. One student was seriously injured in the clash and fell unconscious and the teachers rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, another student fell unconscious and died on the way to the hospital.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.  The deceased has been identified as Akash, son of driver Ramesh, a resident of Navaladipatti. The student who attacked and killed akash is said to be the son of a labourer from nearby Chellipalayam.

Akash had an argument with a fellow student after a student hid his slippers from the wall of the classroom. Following this, a scuffle broke out between the students and akash was allegedly beaten to death. Akash's body has been kept at the Namakkal government Hospital for autopsy.  The police have arrested the student to beat akash to death. A student was killed in a clash between two students of a private school in the area.
