Trichy SP varun Kumar has announced that he will file a defamation case against Seeman and Naam Tamilar Katchi functionaries.
In a statement, varun Kumar said: I am Varunkumar Veerasekaran IPS. Though I have completed my dentist course, I appeared for the UPSC Civil services Examination in 2010 due to my love for the police. Though I stood 3rd in the All-India category, I chose IPS. I joined the IPS in 2011 and worked as an Assistant Superintendent of police in Aruppukottai, Tirupattur and Intensive Force, Chennai. Later, I was promoted as Superintendent of police and worked as Superintendent of Civil Supplies Intelligence, office Automation and Computerisation and Prohibition Enforcement Wing, Madurai, Ramanathapuram district, Tiruvallur district, Chennai.

I have been working as the Superintendent of police of tiruchirappalli district for the past one year.  In all my 13 years of IPS career, I have only received  Outstanding Rating from my seniors.

Even though I am in charge of a district today In 2021, a  YouTuber  with the background of a political party spread fake news and created a major law and order problem in Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and  Chengalpattu districts. At that time, the Tiruvallur district police
As the superintendent, I arrested the YouTuber and booked him under the Goondas Act considering the seriousness of the problem.
Recently, he was booked at the Cyber Crime police station and arrested for controversial defamation posted by the same YouTuber. At a press conference, the coordinator of the party to which the YouTuber belonged, lashed out at me (mentioning certain caste names) for working on a legal basis. It went beyond criticism to the point of intense slander. So, I sent a Civil and criminal Defamation Notice against it to the party's coordinator through my lawyer.

Just because I had sent this   notice as per law , they went beyond me and spread abusive, vulgar  and defamatory messages with obscene and defamatory statements against my family members, women and  children.

Photographs of my children and the women of my family were also degraded and vulgar, which at one point escalated into a threat to the point of issuing death threats for my family.  An examination of some of the X-site accounts that regularly indulge in pornography raises doubts whether these are being driven at the instigation of key functionaries from the party's coordinator to the state in-charges.
Because they are all accounts and are doing the same work continuously.

It is learnt that many fake accounts were ordered to post obscene posts by paying tamil knowing people living abroad due to the instigation of that party.  Out of the three complaints I have filed in this matter,  three criminal cases have been registered and the  Cyber Crime Wing  police are investigating the matter. I and my wife, the respected Mrs. Vandita Pandey, IPS, is also working as Superintendents of police in two major districts (Trichy and Pudukottai)  in the Central police Zone in tamil Nadu. We know that if we work honestly in this challenging task, we will earn the goodwill of the people and the enmity of a few. For us in public life, such serial attacks do not matter. We are just ordinary people, no matter how high we are in the police force. As an ordinary father and mother, this has affected our children and family to some extent.
