How many seats does congress want in Jharkhand?


The jharkhand unit of congress on sunday discussed strategies to retain its existing seats in the state and win maximum seats in the upcoming assembly elections. A party leader said that Congress's jharkhand in-charge Ghulam ahmed Mir and newly appointed state president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh held several meetings with MLAs and other leaders in Ranchi. He said that in the MLAs' meeting, strategies to strengthen the organization and win maximum seats were discussed.


Demand to retain the existing 18 seats

After the meeting, jharkhand minister Banna Gupta said that like every party, congress has also started its preparations for the upcoming elections. congress mla Rajesh Kachhap said, "During the meeting, various issues like retaining the party's existing 18 seats in the assembly elections, winning the maximum number of seats that congress gets in the alliance and contribution of congress MLAs for other seats of 'India' alliance during the elections were discussed."

congress mla Badal Patralekh said that he was asked to prepare a manifesto incorporating the aspirations of the people and make the public aware of the welfare programs initiated by the coalition government. Patralekh said, "Preparations for the proposed visit of rahul gandhi were also discussed. The date of his visit has not been decided yet." Meanwhile, senior congress leaders including Ghulam ahmed Mir met chief minister Hemant Soren. They discussed various issues like the current political scenario, ongoing development projects and implementation of welfare schemes.


Claim will be made to contest on 33 seats

congress Legislative party leader Rameshwar Oraon said that the party had contested 31 seats in the alliance in the 2019 assembly elections. He said, "After the elections, two more MLAs joined the Congress. Therefore, this time our claim will be to contest on 33 seats."
