UPS: Shinde government's gift to employees!!!


maharashtra government has given a big gift to the state government employees by approving the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) on the lines of the center. On saturday (August 24), the central government passed it from the cabinet. According to news agency PTI, an official said that UPS in the state will be effective from march this year and all the employees of the state government will get its benefit. Let us tell you that the term of maharashtra Legislative assembly is ending in november this year and assembly elections are likely to be held in October-November


Many leaders of the state government reached Sahyadri Guest house in mumbai to attend the cabinet meeting on sunday (August 25) in Mumbai. cm Eknath Shinde, deputy cm Devendra Fadnavis, state government ministers Chhagan Bhujbal, deepak Kesarkar, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Aditi Tatkare and other leaders attended this meeting.


What is special in the new pension scheme?

It is worth noting that the new pension scheme Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) has been announced by the central government for government employees. This is a new scheme, it has been brought for government employees. This scheme will be implemented from april 1, 2025. Now government employees will have to choose one of the options from UPS and New Pension Scheme (NPS) to get pension. At the same time, Old Pension Scheme (OPS) is also applicable for government employees in some states.

Under UPS, pension will be given to government employees by the Central Government. After retirement of a government employee after working for 25 years, 50 percent of his basic salary of the last 12 months will be given as pension. There is a provision of assured pension in this. If a person works for 10 years, then he will be given a pension of at least Rs 10,000. There is also a provision of family pension in this. If the employee dies after retirement, then 60 percent of his pension will be given to the family members.
