Social media users are seeing a video of a karnataka High court judge being horrified by a wife's demand for ₹6,16,000 a month from her husband. The woman's attorney attempted to defend her expenses before the judge, but was chastised for providing inflated numbers. Journalist deepika Narayan Bhardwaj put up the wife's demands in a tweet. The woman is requesting ₹4-5 lacs for physiotherapy and knee discomfort, according to the court video. ₹15,000 for clothing and shoes, ₹60,000 for meals used in the house, and several thousand more for eating out.

The woman's requests were called into doubt by the court. The court even advises the attorney, "If she wants to spend, let her earn," in a rather funny turn of events. Instead of providing these "lacs of figure," the judge urged the woman to provide real figures from the attorney. The karnataka High court correctly points out the flagrant abuse of Section 24. The HC court continues, "Granting 6,16,000 is not a punishment to the husband if he is having a dispute with his wife."

X people asked what a single lady without children needs ₹6 lacs for, echoing the judge's statement. Several commenters commended the female judge for making the right decision rather than caving in to the woman's demands.
