Air india, one of the largest airlines in the country, flies thousands of passengers every day. They also carry tons of luggage. air india has said that passengers will not be able to carry more than 20 kg of luggage.

In a clarification, air india said that there is no change in the current free luggage limit for air passengers. It also said that the amendments issued on august 19 are only instructions for corporate booking and there is no change in the free luggage permit for ordinary passengers.

Air india has clarified that those who buy tickets for flights on the website, mobile app and booking centers will not be affected by these changes.    Air india has said that passengers will be allowed to carry luggage free of cost up to 20 kg on flights from india to other countries, up to 30 kg from gulf countries and  20 kg from UAE.

Air india is also offering up to 70 per cent discount on packages carrying more than the prescribed limit, adding that for passengers travelling from the UAE, the price of 150dirhams has been increased from  150  kg earlier to  50 dirhams. air india also said that the tariff for 10 kg of dirhams has been changed from 300 dirhams to 75 dirhams.
