The STEM Park set up in Thoothukudi inspires interest in science among children. In many aspects of our daily lives, we come across scientific discoveries and there is a scientific wonder behind many of the things we use. Even though the school textbooks have said this, science parks provide an opportunity to experience it practically.

School children and the public from the Thoothukudi district used to visit tirunelveli to see such a science park. But now there is a STEM park exclusively in Thoothukudi. The public and school children are now visiting here with great interest.

The STEM Park has been set up in a 9-acre campus at Ambedkar nagar in Thoothukudi district. The STEM Park has been completed under the Smart City Mission for Rs 28.87 crore. It includes a rocket model, space zones, mini theater, Ball of Science, and Virtual Reality (VR).

In virtual reality, VR has 4 types of scenes jungle safari for kids and deep sea for adults. They also have a variety of science-related games outdoors, where children learn science and mathematics easily while playing.

"This stem park is useful for school students. This means that students will understand better when they come here and see scientific theories through actions rather than just looking at books.
