Toll charges at 25 toll plazas in tamil Nadu will be increased by 5 to 7 percent from january 1. The toll plazas are under the control of the National Highways Authority of India.  There are 67 toll plazas in tamil Nadu. The toll at these toll plazas is revised twice a year, in april and September.

The fare was not increased in april this year due to the lok sabha elections. Instead, in june, toll charges were revised at 36 toll plazas. Accordingly, the toll charges at these toll plazas were increased by up to 5 percent.

Meanwhile, the National Highways Authority of india (NHAI) had hiked toll rates in june this year. In june, 36 toll plazas in tamil Nadu were revised and a  5% hike was implemented.

Toll fee hike by 5  to 7%

In  25  toll plazas in tamil Nadu, toll charges will be increased by 5 to 7  percent. Toll charges at Vikravandi, Ulundurpet, Samayapuram, madurai Eliarpathy, and Omalur toll plazas will be hiked.


Toll charges at  25  toll plazas,  including Sriperumbudur and Wallajah, have been hiked. Motorists will have to pay an additional fee ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 150  due to this toll hike.
