64 arrested in bengal Bandh protests...

Today, the opposition bharatiya janata party (BJP) held a 12-hour "Bangla Bandh" in West bengal in retaliation to police operations against demonstrators who participated in the 'Nabanna Abhijan' demonstration on Tuesday. Police action resulted from bjp workers attempting to interrupt train and bus services, which partially disrupted daily life throughout the state. Even though fewer people are attending, schools and universities are still operating. According to Meeraj Khalid, Joint Commissioner of police (HQ), 64 individuals have been taken into custody as a result of today's bandh. A few leaders have also been placed under arrest, and their involvement will determine the next course of action.

In response to the BJP-called bandh, TMC workers staged counter-protests in a number of locations, which resulted in altercations between the two party members. Locket Chatterjee, rahul Sinha, and roopa ganguly were among the bjp leaders who were arrested by the police as a result of their protest. In Nandigram, Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari joined the demonstrators. Should the police'repression' not end right away, he threatened to'stall' West Bengal's political progress.

According to Chief minister mamata Banerjee's principal advisor Alapan Bandopadhyay, "all measures will be taken to ensure that normal life is unaffected." As demonstrators attempted to move toward the state secretariat to demand mamata Banerjee's resignation, police cracked down, resulting in over 200 arrests and numerous injuries throughout the city of Kolkata. The demonstration was called in response to the reported rape and killing of a female trainee doctor on august 9 inside Kolkata's RG Kar Medical college and Hospital by the newly formed student organization "Paschimbanga Chhatra Samaj."

The cbi intends to consult with medical specialists at AIIMS Delhi in order to determine whether Sanjay Roy, the primary accused, was the only one involved in the crime. He is being held in judicial detention at the time. The agency is investigating Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical college and Hospital, for rape and murder in addition to financial irregularities. After being notified of the CBI's first information report (FIR), the Enforcement Directorate (ED), in addition to the cbi, has opened a money laundering inquiry into Dr. Ghosh.
