This gold is usually made as an ornament and offered to Lord Ganesha during the ganesh chaturthi festival. Apart from this, 325 kg of silver ornaments are also available. The Mandal administration used to insure these ornaments every year during the festival. Last year, the entire mandal was insured to the tune of Rs 360 crore. It has increased to 400 crores this year.

Regarding this, G.S.B Seva Mandal president amit Pai said, "A total of Rs 400.58 crore has been insured. Volunteers, cooks, service providers, security providers, and shop owners are insured to the tune of Rs 325 crore. gold and silver ornaments to the extent of Rs.43.15 crores have been insured.

An insurance cover of Rs 2 crore has been given for fire accidents and Rs 30 crore for devotees and pandals. About 3,250 volunteers and priests will be on duty," he said.
