Ajit Pawar Regrets Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj Statue Incident

In a major development affecting Maharashtra's political scene, the recent toppling of a statue of Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj has ignited widespread anger and unrest. The incident, which sparked intense protests from opposition leaders across the state, led to a political crisis with members of the maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition swiftly condemning the act.

Before MVA leaders could arrive at the Malvan site, bjp leader narayan rane and his son were already present, escalating tensions. The situation intensified further when Aditya thackeray of the MVA arrived, leading to confrontations between supporters of the Rane and thackeray factions.

Addressing the turmoil, maharashtra Deputy chief minister ajit pawar expressed deep regret and issued an apology to Maharashtra’s 13 crore residents on behalf of the government during a public rally in Latur. He assured that those responsible for the incident would be identified and face stringent legal action. “I promise to take strict action against the culprits,” Pawar affirmed, emphasizing the significance of Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj’s legacy and his impact on Maharashtra’s people. The ncp faction led by ajit pawar has announced plans to hold silent protests statewide in response to the incident.

Pawar’s speech at the Jan Samman yatra also highlighted recent government achievements, including the waiver of Rs 15,000 crore in electricity bills. He reassured farmers about the waiver and emphasized the state’s commitment to addressing their issues. Furthermore, Pawar spoke about the state budget of Rs 6.5 lakh crore, noting substantial funding for women’s welfare under the “Ladki Bahan” scheme, which he pledged to continue for the next five years.

Additionally, Pawar addressed the rising crime rates against women, particularly following a distressing incident in Badlapur. He committed to introducing stricter laws and harsher penalties, including the death penalty and life imprisonment, for those guilty of such crimes. “There will be no leniency in cases of violence against women,” Pawar declared, reinforcing the government’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of women in the state.

Through his address, ajit pawar aimed to not only address the controversy surrounding the statue but also to reassure the public of his administration’s commitment to justice, heritage preservation, and citizen welfare.
