Is 'Budameru' Bezawada's griefer..!?

* As the Budameru River overflowed, the flood water flooded all the areas of the city.
* 'Budameru' as Bezawada's griefer.!
* How to get a permanent solution for Bezawada..?

For the last four days in the two telugu states, whoever has been talking about vijayawada and khammam is not talking about anything else. But in ap, the people of vijayawada have suffered an irreparable blow like never before. In vijayawada, it has rained more than ever in 30 years. 20 cm in a single day. On friday and Saturday, many parts of vijayawada metropolis had 4 feet of water due to rainfall. As the same situation continued on sunday too, Budameru was flooded. With this, the city of vijayawada was overwhelmed. As the Budameru River overflowed, the flood water flooded all the areas of the city. Singh Nagar, Vidyadharapuram, Pala Project, Chittanagar, Rajeshwaripet Colonies in Singh Nagar, Vidyadharapuram, Pala Project, Chittanagar, Rajeshwaripet and the roads and residences were flooded with heavy flood water. The flood reached those areas from early sunday morning and by noon, flood water entered thousands of houses. Any house looks submerged in flood water.
However, nature has made the people of Bezawada aware of the real cause of the vijayawada disaster. Operation Kolleru, which was undertaken 20 years ago, has been halted for a while. The unexpectedly rapid expansion of the city of vijayawada in the last twenty years and the encroachment of the Budameru flow path have caused the current situation. The Budameru flowing in the middle of the city rather than the krishna river which flows on the side has been terrorizing the people of the city for decades. In 2005, the Budameru flooded the city and flooded three-quarters of Vijayawada. It flows with a flow of thousands of cusecs. In 2005, it reached 70 thousand cusecs and vijayawada was damaged a lot. After that in 2009, such a situation once again occurred. Budameru Vagu has many twists and turns in its journey. Due to this, when there is a high flow, it would cross the embankment and reach the surrounding areas.
After witnessing the massive floods in 2005, the Irrigation Department suggested constructing a retaining wall along the Budameru River. Some work was done on this at that time but later it was completely put aside. The water from Budameru is divided into two parts, one directly reaches Kolleru and the other joins the Krishna. Land encroachment and real estate affairs have increased tremendously in these two decades in the area where Budameru flows. As land is available at low rates in these areas, poor middle-class people bought and built houses. It encroached on most of the riverbed of Budameru. Now due to heavy rains, the flood water from above submerged those encroachments. With it, Bezawada faces unprecedented destruction. These floods have revealed a great danger to the government's plans to build a new capital of ap as a cosmopolitan city combining Guntur, Amaravati, and Vijayawada. Environmentalists say that if the government builds a retaining wall for Budameru with the instructions of the Irrigation Department and removes the encroachments in the river basin, then the threat to Budameru and Bezawada will be removed.
