The flood water is increasing by the minute. By midnight, 11,10,404 cusecs of water are being released downstream. This is a record in the history of prakasam Barrage. As a result, a large amount of flow is going into srisailam and Nagarjunasagar which are above. Due to this, all the people in the river catchment areas were panicked and scared, and the floods came all at once. All the people could not do anything. More than 60,000 people have already been evacuated and kept in the safe zone.

Many people lost their lives due to floods. It has been 15 years since such an unexpected event took place. Mahabubnagar, Krishna, Guntur, and kurnool districts were hit hard. At least 18 lakh people were affected by the floods in about 400 villages of AP. 180 villages in kurnool, 89 villages in Mahbubnagar, 100 villages in Guntur, and 22 villages in nalgonda have been badly damaged due to floods. Central and state governments have started relief measures. Hundreds of army personnel, six helicopters, 1,000-yard swimmers, and 254 boats participated in the rescue operations. Thus the flood of krishna river caused immense damage and it took years for the people to recover from it.
