This is how bjp played the Standing Committee game?

On august 5, the supreme court had said that the LG's decision to nominate 10 'aldermen' in the MCD does not require the aid and advice of the Council of Ministers. The supreme court said that according to the amended DMC Act, the LG's power to nominate members in the MCD is a statutory power, not an executive power.

On august 25, bjp merged five councilors of AAP into its party. However, four days later one councilor ram Chandra returned to his political home.

Both these events changed the results of the MCD ward committee. After four AAP councillors joined bjp and the supreme court declared the appointment of 10 aldermen as valid, bjp got a lead in the Central and Narela zones of MCD.

Lt. governor VK Saxena had nominated 10 bjp members as councillors in three zones, after which bjp had already got a lead in the Civil Lines zone.

Let us tell you that in the elections held on september 4, bjp won in Narela, Civil Lines, Keshavpuram, Najafgarh, Central, Shahdara South and Shahdara North zones. At the same time, aam aadmi party won in Rohini, City-SP, Karol Bagh, West and South zones. In all these zones, one AAP councillor was elected as the president, vice-president and one member each for the standing committee.
