AAP mla Amanatullah Khan's ED custody extended…

aam aadmi party mla Amanatullah Khan's troubles from Okhla, delhi, do not seem to be decreasing. On friday (September 6), Delhi's Rouse Avenue court extended ED custody in the money laundering case registered against Amanatullah Khan. Now Amanatullah will remain in ED custody till september 9. ED had registered a money laundering case in connection with alleged irregularities in recruitment in delhi Waqf Board and leasing of its properties. ED presented AAP mla Amanatullah Khan in Rouse Avenue court after the end of his four-day remand, where ED sought 10 more days of police custody.

'I don't know English'

ED says that he has to be confronted with more witnesses and documents. Amanatullah told the court that he does not understand English, he only understands Hindi. We need to translate the statements of witnesses to confront the accused (Amanatullah Khan).

AAP protests

Meanwhile, on friday (September 6), the aam aadmi party protested near the bharatiya janata party headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg against the arrest of AAP mla Amanatullah Khan and other activists. The protesters gathered near the old office of AAP on DDU Marg, who were stopped by the police from marching towards the bjp headquarters. Barricades were put up to stop the protesters.

'My husband was framed'

Khan's wife Maryam, who participated in the protest, alleged that her husband has been framed in a fake case. AAP MLAs including dilip Pandey and kuldeep Kumar took part in the protest. This week, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Khan, an AAP mla from Okhla, in a money laundering case related to recruitment during his tenure as chairman of the delhi Waqf Board.
