Ghulam Nabi azad said, 'I strongly oppose this that...'

Former Jammu kashmir Chief minister Ghulam Nabi azad said that the leaders in power only see the hustle and bustle in the city, while the remote areas are far from development. Talking to news agency ANI, azad said, "Elections are being held after 10 years. I strongly oppose this. Till now two elections should have been held. In 2019 and today, three elections to parliament were held and we are fighting the second one. Due to the lack of elections, the state went far behind. Perhaps the government leaders might be seeing the hustle and bustle in the cities, but our district Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Kathua, Samba and the remote areas of kashmir like Kupwara, Baramulla, Anantnag, Rajouri, Poonch have lagged far behind.''

Ghulam Nabi azad further said, ''In terms of development, I had built hundreds of schools and hospitals. Primary health centres, sub-district hospitals, district hospitals, schools, high schools and senior secondary schools were built. There were teachers and doctors in all of them. I had left 15-17 years ago. There used to be 20 teachers in a high school, now there is only one teacher. There are 2 doctors in the hospital instead of 15. There is not even a single doctor in Tangdhar and Gurez. Especially our daughters are dying every day because there is no doctor there. The roads remain blocked for six months.''

Ghulam Nabi azad drew attention to the problems of the villages

azad said, ''When I was the CM, goods were available in the market in the city, but what about in the villages. For a week, people were only eating radishes taken out of the snow. We made food grains free for six months. Then, due to snow, it became difficult to travel from one village to another, so we used to pay the snow collector. This was probably the first time that money was paid to a snow collector. This is beyond the understanding of our city leaders.
