More than 1,559 candidates had filed nominations for the upcoming assembly elections, out of which 1,221 nomination papers were found valid after scrutiny and out of these 190 candidates withdrew their names. Now 1,031 candidates are left in the election fray.
Senior leaders persuaded the rebels
After the deadline for withdrawal of nominations ended on monday, senior party leaders contacted many of these rebel candidates and convinced them to withdraw. haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Aggarwal said that 1,031 candidates are in the fray in the assembly elections.
15 candidates withdrew their nominations in Gurugram
If we talk about Gurugram, 15 candidates withdrew their nominations from four assembly seats in Gurugram district. With this, now 47 candidates are left in the election fray in the district. district election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav said that the respective returning officers in the four assembly constituencies Pataudi, gurgaon, Badshahpur and Sohna have allotted election symbols to all the candidates. According to the official statement, after the withdrawal of nominations by three candidates from the gurgaon assembly seat, now 17 candidates are in the election fray.
