Muhammad Yunus is unable to handle Bangladesh...

The interim government of bangladesh led by Muhammad Yunus is proving unsuccessful in stopping the chaos, after which once again the threat of military rule is increasing within the country. Meanwhile, the interim government has given the army the powers of an executive magistrate with immediate effect. The Public Administration Ministry of bangladesh issued a gazette notification regarding this issue on Tuesday. According to this gazette, army officers will be able to work as executive magistrates under the supervision of the district Magistrate throughout bangladesh for the next 60 days. The order issued by the ministry states that these instructions will be applicable in the whole of Bangladesh.

A government advisor told Bangladeshi media outlet Daily Star that after getting the powers of a magistrate, army officers will have the right to arrest and detain people. In self-defense and if there is a greater need, military officers can also open fire. Interim government's law advisor Asif Najrul, explaining the reason for this decision, said that the situation is destructive in many places. Emphasizing on industrial areas, he said that in these situations, the army has been given the power of magistrate.

Police are not able to control the situation

Law advisor Najrul said that he is confident that the army personnel will not misuse this power. Najrul told Daily Star that once the situation improves, the army will not need to have the power of magistrate. Another advisor told Daily Star on the condition of anonymity that the police is still not able to work properly. The situation is not coming under control due to the absence of magistrate with the army.

Such orders for the first time in Bangladesh

The advisor of the interim government admitted that this situation is unusual. He said that this is the first time that the army has been given such power by the government. Although, martial law has been implemented in bangladesh before, but under that law, the army automatically gets the power of magistrate.
