Neighboring jordan condemned
This is the first time israel has shut down the office of a foreign news agency operating in the country. However, Al Jazeera continues to operate in the Israeli-occupied West bank and Gaza Strip, areas that Palestinians hope to get as their future state. For now, there has been no immediate confirmation of the closure by Israeli forces. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Associated Press. Al Jazeera also condemned the move while continuing to broadcast live from Amman, neighboring Jordan.
Posters outside the network were also torn
As part of this entire campaign of Israeli soldiers, they entered the office and told a reporter live on air that this office of Al Jazeera would be closed for 45 days. He said that the staff should leave immediately. After this, the network showed that Israeli soldiers tore down the banner on the balcony used by the Al Jazeera office. Al Jazeera said that it carried a picture of shirin Abu Akleh, a Palestinian-American journalist who was shot by Israeli forces in May 2022.
