How is the preparation for by-election on assembly seats?
The election Department has started preparing for the rajasthan by-election. Chief Electoral Officer naveen Mahajan held a review meeting on the preparations for the by-election. In the meeting, the election Officers of 7 districts were instructed to complete the process of disposal of pending applications related to voter lists, first level checking of EVM machines in Alwar district and proposals for assistant polling stations, appointment and training of sector officers etc. soon.
On Wednesday, naveen Mahajan conducted a detailed review of one vacant assembly seat each in Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Tonk, Nagaur, Udaipur, Dungarpur and Alwar districts. In the review meeting, other officials including district election Officers, Deputy district election Officers, Voter Registration Officers and Assistant election Officers joined through video conference. The election commission of india is going to announce the dates for by-elections on seven assembly seats of rajasthan in the coming days.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that all preparations should be completed before the program of by-election is announced. He directed to dispose of applications related to adding and modifying names in the voter lists of all assembly constituencies soon.
He said that special efforts should be made from booth level officer to registration officer and the district election Officer should monitor the work. Mahajan said that action will be taken to establish auxiliary polling stations if there are more than 1,500 voters at polling stations.
He directed that studies should not be disrupted due to counting of votes in educational institutions. In the review meeting, presentations were made on the basis of the guidelines of the election commission on various processes and activities related to the assembly elections, model code of conduct, eligibility of candidates, randomization of EVMs, monitoring of election expenses, pre-certification of advertisements, media management and deployment of resources and personnel.
