Congress leader Jagdish Tytler has approached the delhi High court regarding the 1984 Sikh riots case. He has challenged the lower court order in the High Court. In this, charges have been framed against Tytler for murder and other crimes in this case. Along with this, it includes illegally gathering people, rioting and promoting enmity. Tytler recently appeared before the trial court. He told the court that he is not guilty. Now he has knocked the door of the High Court.

According to the report of news agency ANI, the petition filed on behalf of Jagdish Tytler through lawyer Vaibhav Tomar said, "The impugned order is illegal and lacks discretion. The grounds on which such charges have been framed are baseless. There is no credible evidence to confirm the allegations leveled against the petitioner. The impugned order is wrong and has been passed without consideration''

Titler also cited his medical ground while changing the trial court's order. Additionally, the petition mentioned that the petitioner has undergone several biopsies in 2009, 2011 and 2016 and in 2021, he fell seriously at home, due to which he fainted, after which he was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. A bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri is scheduled to hear the matter on Tuesday.


Charges against Jagdish Tytler under several sections


In august this year, the Rouse Avenue court had ordered framing of charges against Jagdish Tytler under IPC 302 (murder), 147 (rioting), 109 (incitement to crime) and other sections. The case was related to the murder of three Sikhs in Pulbangash area and the allegation of setting fire to Gurdwara Sahib. Let us tell you that on May 20, 2023, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed a chargesheet against congress leader Jagdish Tytler in connection with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
