The police is fighting a decisive battle against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. Especially the anti-Naxal operation being conducted by the paramilitary forces and local police forces deployed in the Bastar division is continuously giving great success to the Bastar Police. Union home minister amit shah has claimed to end Naxalism from the entire country including Bastar in chhattisgarh by march 31, 2026. In such a situation, hundreds of soldiers are constantly encountering Naxalites by entering the den of Naxalites, so that this claim can be fulfilled.

This is the reason that in the last eight months, the soldiers have killed 157 Naxalites so far in the encounter between the police and Naxalites in different districts of Bastar division. Bastar IG Sundarraj P has released this figure. The special thing is that these 157 Naxalites killed in different encounters also include Naxalites with rewards of lakhs of rupees. Apart from this, a large number of Naxalite weapons have also been recovered by the soldiers from the encounter site.

Weapons recovered in large numbers

Bastar IG Sundarraj P said, Bastar police has achieved great success in the anti-Naxalite operation effectively conducted by the security forces in the Naxal-affected areas in the year 2024. In the last eight months, the soldiers have recovered the dead bodies of more than 157 Maoists in encounters with Naxalites in different areas of Bastar division. Along with this, a large number of ultra-modern weapons like LMG, Ak-47, INSAS have also been recovered from the incident site.

In the year 2024, 10 such Maoists have been killed who were residents of the outer area. These include DKSZC member Joganna, DKSZC member Randher, TSC member Sagar, DKSZC Rupesh, DVCM member shankar Rao, DVCM member Vinas, DVCM member Jagdish and ACM member Rajita, ACM member Lakshmi, ACM member Sangeeta. They were big Naxalite leaders of telangana and were active on the Odisha, chhattisgarh, maharashtra and telangana border for a long time.

A reward of lakhs of rupees was announced on them by the police of all four states. The soldiers have also recovered their bodies in different encounters. The killing of these big Naxalites has given a big blow to the Naxalite organization. This is the reason why Naxalites are now seen on the backfoot in areas like Abujhmad. The IG has claimed that due to the anti-Naxal campaign being run under the new strategy, the Naxalite organization in Bastar is now gradually weakening. Due to this, a large number of Naxalites are also surrendering.
