The first meeting of the committee formed for the street vending policy was held in the himachal pradesh Legislative assembly on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Parliamentary Affairs minister harsh vardhan Chauhan.

Many important aspects regarding the street vending policy were discussed in the meeting. It was decided in the meeting that suggestions and objections will also be taken from the general public in this regard. The next meeting of the committee will be held on november 4. According to the information, the Urban Development Department also gave a presentation in this meeting held in the himachal pradesh Legislative assembly premises. The Urban Development Department gave detailed information about the Street Vending Act of 2014 of the central government and 2016 of the himachal pradesh Government. In this meeting, the members have also given their important suggestions. This committee will register the suggestions and objections of the common people through the Urban Development Department itself.

Meeting of a seven-member committee

A committee of congress and bjp MLAs has been formed under the chairmanship of Harshvardhan Chauhan. Rural Development and panchayati minister Aniruddh Singh, Public Works minister Vikramaditya Singh, bjp mla Anil Sharma, bjp mla Satpal Singh Satti, bjp mla Randhir Sharma and congress mla Harish Janartha are members of this committee.

In fact, after the controversy over the mosque in Sanjauli, Shimla, the capital of himachal pradesh, the matter of strengthening the street vending policy came to the fore. The common people alleged that people from outside states come to himachal pradesh and set up hawkers and do not even get their verification done properly. Only after this, chief minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu had requested Speaker kuldeep Singh Pathania to form a committee in the Assembly. On the request of the chief minister, the Speaker of the assembly formed a seven-member committee.
