Questions raised on mamata government
West bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has targeted the mamata government over this incident. In a long post on Twitter, he said, "It seems that the West bengal police have not learnt anything from the unfortunate RG Kar incident when a 31-year-old PGT doctor was raped and murdered. The eight-year-old fourth grade student of Mahishamari area of Joynagar; South 24 Parganas district was going to tuition class and was missing since yesterday afternoon. The family members along with some neighbours went to the police camp to report the on-duty police personnel." He further wrote, "Instead of responding promptly, the said police personnel seemed reluctant and tried to evade their responsibility. Later the villagers themselves started looking for the missing child and recovered the body of the child from a pond in Mahishamari in the morning. Had the police been proactive, the child could have been rescued alive, but unfortunately the police was reluctant to perform their duty, for which the child had to pay the price with her life."

We started looking for her. Later, her body was found about a kilometre away from our house."
