Reportedly the central government has started the pilot project PM Internship Scheme with the aim of making the youth employable. Online applications can be made for this from october 12. The internship will be for one year and the selected youth will be given financial assistance of Rs 5 thousand every month. Apart from this, a lump sum of Rs 6 thousand will be given at the beginning of the internship. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave information about this scheme during her budget speech.
Meanwhile under the PM Internship Scheme, youth will get a chance to do internship in India's top 500 companies. The objective of this scheme is to develop the skills of 1 crore youth of the country in the coming 5 years. Candidates selected for PM Internship will be given a lump sum financial assistance of Rs 6 thousand and Rs 5 per month.
government sources said that there is a plan to provide internship opportunities to 1.25 lakh youth in the current financial year. It is estimated that this scheme will cost Rs 800 crore. Many companies of the country have shown interest in this scheme. Recently, travel booking platform EasyMyTrip has announced to appoint more than 500 interns in the next 3 to 6 months. youth will be able to apply for this scheme from midnight of 12 October. By october 10, companies will provide information about internships according to their needs.
Moreover candidates interested in PM internship will be able to register on the website www.pminternship.mca.gov.in from midnight of 12 October. The list of shortlisted candidates will be given to the companies by 26 October. The government has chosen the auspicious day of vijayadashami for registration on this portal. So far 111 companies have joined this scheme, apart from this, states of Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, telangana and gujarat are included.
